Are children too young?

Matthew 21:16  From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise?

Acts 2:17  In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

  1. Tamera,
Do you find that sometimes people feel no burden to win children to Christ, because of the so-called “age of accountability”? I was surprised to encounter that attitude with one of our church people. Having worked with children in our church for the last five years, I really hadn’t given it any thought at all. What I’ve seen with the kids is sinners. Once they’re 5 or 6, they’re quite active little sinners, it seems to me. And if we wait til that magical age of accountability to try to reach them, they’ll be hardened sinners with hard hearts of rebellion. Not that they can’t be won later, of course they can, but it’s a risk.
I don’t know. Maybe I’m wrong about it. But I feel a great burden for their souls and I wish I could get others to have the same burden.

  2. Marilyna, that is so sad. People like that don’t understand that 80% of all Christians were saved between the ages of 4 and 14. You are right is saying if we wait, their hearts will become hard to the Gospel.
