Wreaths:
Wreaths are a great symbol to teach children about Christmas. Wreaths are circular. This symbolizes eternal life. It can also symbolize God’s unending love. We usually hang wreaths on the door to welcome guests just as Jesus welcomes us to have eternal life in Him. Wreaths are made out of evergreen symbolizing again everlasting life in Christ.
Bible Verse For Wreaths: (John 6:47) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Advent Wreath
The advent wreath with four purple candles or three purple candles and one pink candle and one white candle in the middle is a great way to teach about the birth of Christ. The candles are lit every Sunday throughout Advent, and each week symbolizes something different.
Week 1: Hope
Week 2: Peace
Week 3: Joy
Week 4: Love
Christmas Eve: On Christmas Eve, the white candle in the middle is lit to symbolize the light of the world, Jesus, was born to answer the prayers for hope, peace, joy, and love.
